Again,democrats are proposing medicare for all, not VA or NHS for all.
Medicare for All is very much the same thing as VA or NHS for all. Can you point to a single other country with a public plan where all the covered residents use private medical services? Hint: the answer is No - because this type of structure is simply not sustainable.
Anyone pushing a public plan or "Medicare for all" needs to be honest with Americans about the full ramifications of this type of coverage -- including the rationing and long waits that will come with it.

No rational person asserted that about Obamacare. Rational people asserted that all of our medical costs would go up more with ACA than without ACA. And yes, the costs rose much faster under Obamacare.

As a reporter, I do not use euphemisms — such as calling murderous terrorists “militants” or “activists.” And as an American, I can exercise my First Amendment right to say plainly that President Obama is a liar with regard to our new health-care law, often referred to as Obamacare.
When a number of critics of Obamacare, including myself, warned that it would bring the rationing of treatments, medications and research into new procedures, the president said to the American Medical Association (June 15, 2009) that this rationing charge was a “fear tactic.”

Yes... as I always have stated is that the U.S. needs to follow the examples of other countries that have a public plan with a private option such as Germany or the U.K. The private options gives people the ability to pay a little more for faster and better care. The people on the public plan however endure rationing and long waits for non-emergency care.
Liberal Democrats like to cite Canada by example of excellent healthcare. Ignoring the fact that top officials of Canada come to the US for treatment in US hospitals and paying out of pocket? Why is that, when they have free healthcare in Canada? Truth is if you have a serious disease like cancer or need immediate surgery, can you wait the extra 6 months of wait time to get seen by your doctor? So, in effect, you are paying for healthcare that for practical purposes, you cannot use! Yet, the remedy for high costs of healthcare is competition. If only the US will allow all insurance companies to offer healthcare across state lines, premiums and deductibles will go down! Look at auto insurance. It is cheaper nowadays because of the increased number of insurance companies selling auto insurance.
