Ahhhh.... but know where they got it? Variations of that design were on Air Force Squadron patches in the '50's, and then later on some of the first NASA patches.

I found a vintage patch on E-Bay and looked up the Squadron.
1948-1958
Look familiar? In a way at least? Maybe flip it over.
