Technically, this Statement may, or may not be true, "As the President has stated before - a thorough investigation will confirm that there was no collusion between the campaign and any foreign entity,” ,,,

Russia is, however, blackmailing Trump. It is over money laundering and there is a strong possibility that some substantial transactions were in the form of cash and were not reported on income tax returns. There are a number of other little things, things that would be embarrassing to anyone other than Trump, that the Russians know about. But it's money laundering, real estate transactions that are going to get both Trump and Kushner*, and now it seems Manafort as well, in hot water. This is the aspect of the investigation that Preet Bahrara, the fired NY, Federal Attorney, was working on. No wonder Trump preferred his previous life out of the FBI spotlight!

This is more than mere speculation on my part. And just now the Washington post has confirmed the inescapable conclusion: "...the investigative work now being done by the FBI also includes determining whether any financial crimes were committed by people close to the president. The people familiar with the matter said the probe has sharpened into something more fraught for the White House..." -- Washington Post. [italics mine]

The hardest thing in the world is to keep pigs away from a trough.

*There is at least one bright spot to come out of this, Daddy Kushner will be able to give knowledgeable tips to young Jared on what to pack for Federal Prison.
