He set the narrative come hell or high water in the primaries and blew the rest of the field away.
Now, he's letting the dems and nevertrumpers set the narrative on this mass killing. It's all about guns.
If he stops setting the narrative, he can kiss it all goodbye.
Imo he should have come out from the start and never backed down that what this mass killing really proved is that we need more comprehensive background checks on muslims and a ban on semi automatic muslims.

Trump has had a bad couple of weeks. He now is in the position of all republican nominees, where they will get only the most hostile media coverage. This flap about the Mexican judge is an example. He had a plausible argument but worded it awkwardly, then somehow became a racist over it.
He should have spent the time since he got the nomination hammering Hillary and her record of failure and corruption and our insane immigration policy. Stay on message.
