Sadly, Newspapers are merely propaganda material used to drive the views of their owners. take a look at how William Randolph Hearst and Joseph Pulitzer drove the Spanish-American War.

As well as CNN, MSNBC, CBS, and ABC.... and most newspapers in the U.S.
When reading or viewing news stories one should understand and take in account the bias of the source.
Didn't they do a study that found that left-wing millennials had The Daily Show as their sole source of news. With so many musheads getting their news from Comedy Central it is no wonder how bad things are.
And who did the Right Wingers get their news from? Trump? Hannity? Putin? All of the above (=Breitbart)?

In fairness, the newspapers are doing their best to hold down the actual facts they publish. Their see role now is to instruct us whom to vote for and chastise us if we fail to comply.
And they are baffled why people don't read them.
