So then prosecute. What's the big deal? Don't make a drama out if everything. Nobody in the rest of the world has thought of 9/11 in over a decade, nobody thinks of Jan 6 anymore. Get over yourself and drop your pathological need of self importance. Do what needs to get done and move on. This everlasting American emotional drama is boring the shit out of the rest of the world. Drop some bombs on Russia or do some other cool stuff to keep us all entertained. It's getting boring in the theater.
Some protestors were waved in...most were not. Of the latter, they climbed the walls of the Capitol building to gain entry, others smashed their way through windows to gain entry, others beat Capitol police to the ground to gain entry, others not waved in then pushed their way into the Capitol...
Along comes a bunch of bank robbers (insurrectionists) that walk through the front doors with make-shift weapons, zip ties for kidnapping/looking for hostages, and demand the money (vote certification)...
- Here's an analogy...pretend the bank opens its doors and even has a sign on the outside that states these are the Open Hours of Business: 8am to 5pm.
It's still a bank robbery although some will get away with it, many will go to jail in reference to those smashing out windows to enter, those with make-shift weapons, and those trying to force their way into a barricaded congressional hall to look for hostages while being warned to not enter...eventually one tries to climb through a smashed out window...resulted in being shot dead by the security protecting congressional members.
Simply, just because you may have been invited in doesn't give someone the right to threaten congressional members, to search for congressional members in a room-to-room search nor attack Capitol police.
