The monthly Democracy Institute Sunday Express poll for the Presidential election shows that Mr Trump is still on course for victory with 46 percent of the popular support compared to his Democrat rival Joe Biden’s 45 percent.
This is a poll that purportedly does not over-sample Democrats and more accurately reflects the electorate of likely voters, not registered voters. With all the mail-in voting this year, "likely" may be somewhat different this cycle----don't know. I agree that the 30 percent number on likeability does not seem to play out in people's overall decisions. Some very interesting questions in that poll. Thanks for sharing. Trying to figure out what makes this poll so different than all the other polls out there.
Q “Is Trump/Biden a likeable person?”
That, together with the poll's results show that people are looking at this as voting for the policies and not the person.
- Trump = 30%
- Biden = 54%
Also interesting:
Q “Should government prioritise law & order on city streets or prioritise improving relations between Black Americans and the police?”
Q “Do you support de-funding your local police department?”
- Law & order = 73%
- Improving relations between Black Americans & police = 27%
- Yes = 16%
- No = 75%
Q “Do you approve/disapprove of President Trump’s handling of the protests and riots?”
Q “Has Joe Biden been sufficiently critical of the violent rioting?”
- Approve = 63%
- Disapprove = 37%
Black Lives Matter
- Yes = 32%
- No = 68%
Q “Which phrase better fits your own thinking about race in America?”
And the obvious:
- Black Lives Matter = 26%
- All Lives Matter = 74%
Q “Are you comfortable with your relatives, friends, and coworkers knowing how you vote?”
- Trump voters: Yes = 22%
- Biden voters: Yes = 87%

Yeah, I'm not buying results from a poll I've never heard of. There hasn't been a single national poll on FiveThirtyEight or RCP this month showing Trump winning the popular vote. Since the debate there is one poll (IBD) with Biden only +3, while every other poll is is +7 or higher. So you stopped quoting Rasmussen and found a new poll? What happens when this poll goes Rasmussen way?
