The "they" he's speaking of is two different entities: the NBA, and the federal government. The NBA is not investigating Benghazi (or the IRS), and the federal government is not investigating Sterling's tape.

I disagree. I think he was referring to the media..... The US gov't prevented the media from snooping too deeply into Benghazi. OTOH, the media had complete, unfettered access to Sterling's entire personal and business lives...

I'm conflicted on this. I don't like the idea that a league full of convicts, wife beaters, druggies, rap thugs, hookup artists, etc will come down on a guy for having unPC views. And Magic Johnson, please STFU, seriously. I particularly am concerned that those views were expressed privately to his "GF" in a setting where he had an expectation, however unreasonable, of privacy. This is a typical leftist move to punish a guy for having an opinion they disagree with. Very much like the Mozilla case.

On the other hand, it is difficult to feel much sympathy for this guy. Apparently, he is a typical hypocrit liberal or pretend liberal. Big man at the NAACP but doesn't want his 20 year old GF hanging with blacks.

Ok. At any rate, the NBA listened to the tape, determined it was indeed Sterling speaking, and asked him to confirm it, which he did. The media made the general public aware of his racism in a big way, but they were not necessary to the investigation.

But because the media was part of the Great Benghazi Conspiracy, they never should have reported the story in the first place.
