Why are you guys so bitter?

Don't you think it's entirely possible that he just needed to focus on something bigger to get some motivation going again?

I follow his blog, enjoy his posts, his struggles and the way he openly writes about them. He obviously wasn't in the zone the last couple of month and chances are being up 50k or getting some more sleep and avoiding the european session is almost a wash when you're exhausted and don't really need the money.

I don't know him and could have a completely wrong read on him but I think he's just looking to satisfy a higher calling.

As far as free, vs. 2k vs. 5k, vs 10k. Either way it's a drop in the bucket, if you're making this your new career choice. Bottom line is the more you initially invest the more serious you think about it upfront and the more serious you prepare for it. Look at fauso pugliese (maybe spelled wrong) free daytrading class, great value but because it's free most people don't even do the homework, don't prepare, so in the end it's a waste of time for everyone.

On an unrelated note, I paid 200 $ for a poker tournament less than 3 month ago and sat next to a professional gambler. I learned more than I ever imagined. It didn't change my game, I lasted longer than he did, but he spoke openly about ups and downs, month without being profitable, traveling from city to city and making less than 100k the first couple years. I wouldn't want to switch with him, I was under the illusion they make >400k every year, having down weeks but not down month. Don't look at the 7k and think you'll learn the "magic don miller setups", look at the 7k as the way to avoid 50k in losses if you're trying to figure out common mistakes on your own.

Because I just looked at this thread, I was lead to Don's blog.

The first entry I read had this:

“have a bias, but make sure to trade what you see, not what you think;”
“the ups and downs, manage them, but stay in the game, you have to be present to win;”
“the minute the sequence ends, look for the next one, mentally delete old sequences, only look forward.”

The above paragraph should save thousands of people, who are attempting to day trade, thousands of dollars.

It probably won't because until you become a successful trader and market reader, you won't believe those words.

If Don can help someone, who is attempting to become profitable,
understand and immerse himself in those concepts it will be worth whatever Don decides to charge.

If you don't understand those concepts above, take a close look at your own P & L before you criticize what Don is doing.

BTW: I don't for a minute believe all of Don's students will become profitable daytrading the ES, but it probably won't be because of Don. Not everyone is emotionally wired to day trade the ES. Some will be better suited to position trading or not trading at all.

Bet not.

Here is my advice. Don't try to emulate from overnight gurus.

It takes time and hard work to become a professional in anything.
