Walmart or any other retailer won't take your brand name toothpaste unless the expiration is more than a year or even longer. So when you end up with a shitload of such product, it is considered hazardous waste, thus costs another shitload of money just to make it disappear.
So if you give it away for FREE to the Dollar stores or even if you pay a small amount you are better off then paying for the destruction of such product.
And they have plenty of similar products (canned food, dry food) on their shelves....
