It should first and foremost be a self-prescribed minimum filter for anyone who manages money for others. How can someone who lacks basic counting and math skills fulfill the expectation every investor has at a bare minimum, which is that the person entrusted with money will know what they are doing? Someone who can't calculate simple percentages with very high probability is unable to navigate and compete in financial markets that are inhabited by some of the brightest in the world. If I had investors and they learned that I feel challenged calculating basic percentages they would be running for the hills in any country or jurisdiction.
