But yes trendlines don't work for shorting tops

Huh? You mean random lines drawn all over a bitcoin futures chart does not show you exactly where the price is going tomorrow? The fibbo overlay should give it away, on an instrument with no fundamental basis in reality!
It must be your inability to properly read TA. Or your system is faulty. Or you have a bad strategy. Etc etc etc.
