Does this happen to you?

Quote from dipper17:

When you're trading something like a deep nasdaq stock which has dozens sometimes over 100 market makers in it how is it do you think they can get all those firms to back up the market and screw you and your retail lot when all those market makers are in different places fielding different order flow?

I guess no one is going to answer my question huh?

I think this is the age old question, of "is the market targeting me personally, and working against me?" When i first started day-trading, this would happen to me all the time and really piss me off. Then, as I got more experienced, I realized that sometimes I was placing trades that somehow were the ONLY tick of the day that worked in my favor. For instance, a stock could be strong as a redwood all day, and I somehow painted the top and bottom of a 25 cent pullback, only to have the stock rally into the close. I can't tell you how many times that happened to me.

So you see, this "market working against me" feeling is only in your head, and probably due to inexperience. Let's face it, trading successfully is very difficult. One piece of advice I will give you is to start trading listed (NYSE) securities. I always found listed stocks to be easier to trade, and much less head-games.
