Does the left REALLY believe this?

I don't bitch about high fees. (IB has the lowest, anyway :D)

I bitch about the taxes I have to pay that get redistributed to the lower income brackets in terms of subsidies.

How would you like it if you, as a successful trader, had to pay a 20% luxury tax on your proceeds to those traders who are losing money?

First he has to learn to be a successful trader :D:D:D:D

LOL...yeah, right!!

I really don't mind giving up more in taxes to have a nice, safe country to live in, but that's just me...

From the self proclaimed "Home of Liberalism on the Net", TurnLeft.Com :

"We spend most of our lives working. Work is the foundation of our economy and a major part of the glue holding together communities. The employee is an equal business partner with the employer, and as such, has the right to collectively bargain for terms of employment.

(Underline mine)

Correct me if I'm wrong - and I hope I am - but this sounds awfully similar to the flawed in theory and discredited in practice Marxist workers-own-the-means-of-production ideology.

How can this be considered good for business and economic prosperity?

Perhaps the young alfonso would better spend his time observing the markets, instead of cruising off the wall web sites, desperately seeking conversation starters.

If you really need human contact as much as it seems, may I suggest an afternoon bowling league?

Quote from Tech Analysis:

Liberals love to stir up the class envy with such gems like "working class". EVERYBODY works, even the owners! Unless you're laying on your ass collecting disability we are all working class, at least until we become the 'retired class'. Just more mind control.

There's your answer. And the right stirs up the class war with rhetoric about 10-generation welfare dynasties and NEA grants that fund feces-enhanced modern "art."

There are two sides, the haves and the have-nots (or the have-mores and have-lesses) - the left plays one side, the right the other -

in the end both sides lose 60% of their income in taxes.

Don't get me wrong - I don't mind paying taxes for essential gov't services such as infrastructure and a strong military. It's redistribution of wealth from one class to another that I take issue with.

alfonso is of course exactly correct.

Liberalism in this country is synonymous with marxism/socialism which both spring from the concept of coherent social classes and class conflict. The fact that social classes in this country are not fixed and in fact are nothing more than arbitrary statistical classifications, like quartiles, does not deter the left. Why ? because the left has no soul anymore. They have gone from protesting for civil rights to protesting the Gap. They are the random opposition party and they need to dig up dead concepts and twist the truth in order to keep going.

Dear John,

Given the lack of real substance his post seems to have illicited, the aforementioned alfonso might indeed be better served by focusing his attention on the markets. Bear in mind, however, that alfonso has little interest in trading in such a manner that requires aganosing over the direction of the very next tick, and as such is freerer to devote his time to other interests that catch his fancy.

Bear in mind also, that a similar accusation could be levelled at your good self.

Regarding the bowling, your suggestion is well received.

Alfonso.

Yeah, no kidding!

Punish the ass kickers with high taxes
and reward the slackers with low taxes
and benefits.
Great concept there.

I like living in a nice and safe country too, but I
think I should be able to get this for less
than a 50% tax rate!!

And that only includes state and federal!
Still have sales tax, property tax, gax tax, death tax,
tax..tax.tax...tax....taaaaaaaaaax.

Aaaahhhhhhh!!!!!!
I hate the right, but at this point, I can only vote
for whoever is least likely to raise my taxes.

peace

This thread's banishment to the nether regions of ET that is ChitChat is confirmation that both the members of this board and its management are wilfully ignorant of the economic reality that is shaping their lives. How utterly comical that such a group considers themselves "elite" traders!
