Does immigration hurt the economy

Quote from pspr:

+1 But, of course, no one is trying to break into N.K. or Iran...

That's because N. Korea and Iran don't have generous social freebies paid for by other citizens... The illegals are essentially STEALING from American taxpayers... with scumbag politicos allowing/ENDORSING the theft, of course.

Do undocumented immigrants get tax return? The answer is simply No!

First, a majority of undocumented immigrants don’t have a social security number so they do not benefit from most of the privileges that a citizen or permanent resident will enjoy. They do not qualify for food stamps, employment benefits, retirement benefits, handicap benefits etc.

They buy cell phones and pay taxes every month on their bills.

There are plenty of undocumented workers with fake social security numbers who not only file tax returns, but file fraudulent ones and received large refunds.

And don't kid yourself ... they do get food stamps and more government benefits.

Further, they show up at hospitals, usually the ER, and are treated. DO they pay their bills? Taxpayers often pick up most of this cost.

How about their kids education? That's another 'freebie' ....

I volunteer in elementary schools ... fact: plenty of parents and their kids get free cell phones. Here in SC, Assurance Wireless gives away phones with 250 free minutes and 250 free texts per month to anyone on any form of government assistance. I know 10 year olds with these free phones and know a number of them to be here illegally.

All of this adds up costwise ... and Obama's plan to grant them amnesty is so poorly thought out. His objective? Merely get more votes for Democrats going forward since most anyone who gets 'freebies' will vote that way. You clearly have no idea how easy it is to get a fake ID and game the system as many illegals do.

Yes illegal immigration hurts the economy. They don't pay taxes because it isn't possible to be undocumented and pay income taxes + they use public services = net takers. They are another cost to an already broken system, they aren't citizens, they have no right to be here.. so fuck 'em, get out.

Your equation is missing the production side, the side that businesses who employ illegals care about. Not that I'm defending illegal immigration, which this thread isn't even about, if one looks to the title.

The production side can be taken care of by eliminating minimum wage laws, or just eliminating perpetual welfare/unemployment etc. people will work if they can't live for 'free'.

I have no problem with LEGAL immigration, however in a stagnate economy it would be wise to restrict or halt immigration until things improve.

Cut pay and force labor--the Gulag Method.

I said one or the other. BTW paring back the social 'safety net' isn't forcing labor, those effected still have the same choice that everyone else does. Do nothing and be poor OR work.

So we don't really have an unemployment problem?

is that what I said?

If we tossed illegals the fuck out of here and the unemployed couldn't live off the taxpayers perpetually, then they would have to work or starve, reducing unemployment even without growth, and cutting deficits. that's efficiency.

And I take back the min wage comment. No one will work if they could make more money living off the taxpayers. federal welfare has gotta go.
