Does IB (TWS) support Dual Core

I am thinking of buying an AMD X2 Dual Core PC.

Two Questions.

1. Does TWS support Dual Core PC?

2. Whats the better buy?

HP a1530n
Intel Pentium D 820 Viiv Dual Core 2.8 Ghz
1 GB Ram
250 GB Hard Drive
17” Flat Panel
$740

Vs.

HP a1520n
AMD Athalon 64 X2 Dual Core 3800+ 2.0 Ghz
1 GB Ram
250 GB Hard Drive
17” Flat Panel
$700


I have a full time job, and will be trading on the side, so I am just looking for mid-high level PC, nothing to crazy. Thanks in advance.

IB TWS is a multi-threaded application, so it will benefit from a dual core processor.

I think those computers are so similar it wouldn't really matter. I would go with the AMD-based, just because I support AMD, but either would be fine.
