Does IB negotiate commissions?

Not correct. IB Prime kicks in from 1m AUM if you care for it.

What are the advantages of becoming IB Prime customer? How about disadvantages?

I know of some retail customers who have more than $1m AUM. They are not Prime customer. They have the same treatment, same commission with other IB customers with much smaller AUM.

You can institutional coverage called proserv. , and a direct line into corporate actions and SLB team.
