Does having a spouse with income help or hurt trading?

There is NO certainty in either trading entries or marriage entries. To believe otherwise is delusional. If you require certainty, get a government job and continue to live with Mother.:D

Well, I would assume there is a difference in choice CRITERIA between one who makes his choice based on "hollywood cinema and television, and for some actually pimps (!!!) ", and one who has family examples of happily ( more than 50 years) married couples in the family, as well as in their community.
In the same vein, I guess trading just after hearing about trading, VS after - flattery here - taking your course, MIGHT lead to different CHOICES of trades.

Then obviously if your spouse if fully made aware of all the drawbacks of trading -
learning curve, possibility of failing, etc... then if she agrees you are on a winning path.
Having a spouse dragging you down is a huge no no no for aspiring traders.

Having a family does make it harder because other people are counting on your income. If you have a spouse that makes enough money to cover the majority of your monthly expenses, it would sure take the pressure off. Just better be sure she is on the same page as you.
