Does God Suffer From Vanity?

Anyone care to define what being in a state of theism is?

Theism, not atheism. Though I do mispell a lot and make a plethora of typos, I do mean theism with a "t."

I ask because if atheism has a "state of being" (highly debatable) then its counterpart (some like to think of atheism as an opposite), theism must also have one.

I can't define it nor have I ever seen it defined that way because theism is without question a worldview/ideology. In essence, I'm looking for someone to define theism as if it is a condition or state of being. (Yeah, I can think of a few jokes here too.)

I'm not sure what you are trying to convey. I suspect that most people who are atheists have taken the time to weigh the available evidence and make a decision for themselves based on the weight of that available evidence. Their choice not to believe in God then makes them atheists. Unfortunate people in comas or those suffering from advanced Alzheimer's disease are none of the above. Sadly, their impaired cognitive abilities cannot define them as either atheist or theist.

Perhaps you might find the shooting range before you have a go at a target if I put my reply in the form of a question..

Do you think it would be moral or a-moral to stipulate what a persons actual understanding would be toward theism or a-theism once they previously had cognizant experience of theism but now are unaware ?

Wouldn't it be better to say, knowing what She/he thought about that, I would say they are normally atheist / theist....??

Someone never having any experience of theism, You know like a baby, then assuredly atheist.

I have faith in God, that is the position of a theist.

You, have faith in non God, which makes you an atheist. The agnostic has faith in neither God nor non God.

By the way, really loved how Joe smacked you down in the feedback forum, where you whined the way you usually do...

TD, the foundation of atheism is an argument from ignorance. Which also holds true for theism, so why not choose agnostic ?



To say 100% that something does not exist just because you have not seen it is ludicrous.
