Does everyone have CNBC turned on while trading ?

Dont care what is on "a instutions" trading floor tv.

CNBC is 99% worthless. PERIOD. If your serious about your news, you'll save the 1000 dollar flat screen cost, and 100 dollar cable cost, get ur self a Bloomberg Terminal and learn to watch the scrolling headlines for news....Not some "Smart" reporter who is reading off a tele-promter at news coming over the wire that I see hit the Bloomberg first......

CNBC's after market comments can be good "entertainment".

But if you really think those "reporters" including the "Women" are coming up with the "Crap" the report on their own.....then Im telling you to short GOOGLE and Hold.

The TV financial presenters or commentators on the markets really don't know horsesh*t about whats going on and whats going to happen in the market. They do the job for their salary. They'd sh*t themselves silly if they had to be traders.

While I do take note as to when there will be economic items, usually at 10am NY time, if you trade technically you shouldn't give a sh*t if the market goes up or down on news (eg YM). If you know what you're doing you'll be playing the moves whether up or down at that time or any other time in the market day.

Sometimes it is really amusing when you know there will be tribes of regular losers expecting the market to go up on a bullish 10am item; its bullish and market goes down or already sniffing down beforehand carries on down.

Bottom line: just play the gyrations.

For the original poster: Yes, there are many benefits as described; however be aware the market news makers are paid to make meaningless ticks and data as controversial, sensational, and meaningful as possible. If you base your trading on news hype then you'll pay for it dearly.
