Does anyone here use more esoteric trading strategies like Astrology or psychics?

If it can, do you realize the amount of effort it would take to figure out how and then design a profitable trading edge? Like the old saying goes "If wishing were horses, beggars would ride." Chasing down mystical gobbledegook is typical of retail trader fantasies.

This post has information about a rule-based system to simulate S&P 500 long trades with only inputs representing the relationships of the Sun and Moon to the Earth. It had good out-of-sample results.

I do not know why works. But it does work at times if you notice that prices usually drop and people are fearful during a full moon and they go back to peak euphoria and optimism in a new moon. Mercury Retrograde usually also causes pessimism in the financial markets.

I have also heard of people making fortunes based on listening to psychic's advises and or remote viewing a certain stock price in the future. I believe everyone do has some psychic abilities to some extent. Have you ever had the gut feeling? Like deep in your subconscious mind you feel something bad is going to happen and the stock price crashes soon after or you see something and your mind tells you that price is a steal and it does an incredible rally? That is your psychic power at work.

I make all my trading decisions on the advice of my magic 8 ball!

I have met Larry Pesavento several times over the years and have read most of all of his pattern recognition stuff. He's a super nice guy and he swears by the astro cycles however it was way too out there for me however you may find what he writes on the subject helpful and useful and although he's written several books -Essentials of Trading: It's Not WHAT You Think, It's HOW You Think - is by far the best book I've read regarding trading.

Cheers........

I do not see that on Amazon. Where do you get it from?

All of that...is basically...Bs.
Scientific trials have proved time and time again...none of those metaphysical premonitions, perceptions, are reliable, viable, predictions of the future.

It's merely a novelty, circus, act. Similar to fortune cookies...not to be taken too seriously, at all.
Weak, or weaker, and lost souls open themselves up to the devil. So be solid, have backbone, have faith, stand for something. Something real, something positive.

Good points+ short cuts never trump good work habbits for long.
Actually can measure by a full moon, quarter moon....., it's on some calenders , but most use months [related to the word moon]
Any effective lie tends to have a bit of truth in it. Old time sailors did steer by the stars/north star, but Holy Grail Seeker \you are no sailor......................................................:caution::caution::caution::caution::caution::caution:,:caution::caution::caution:

Larry Is on YouTube everyday. Mercury going retrograde. Only 94 views. Like and subscribe.
There are so many so-called, amateur, wannabe, expert, stock market analysts across YouTube and all social media sites with their own podcasts, shows, and commentaries. They must all love to see and hear themselves. It makes them feel big, important and intelligent.
Total cringe, and bore.
They all talk about hindsight explanations in clarity and wisdom. But if they were to actually trade the market, or reveal their account performance, they would turn red in absolute shame.

About Larry
Larry Pesavento is president of Trading Tutor and a 45-year veteran trader. He managed Drexel Burnham Lambert's commodity department from 1976 to 1981. Following this, Mr. Pesavento became a floor trader at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, trading S&P futures, T-Bills, gold, and foreign currencies until 1984, then he traded for Commodity Corporation of Princeton, New Jersey, until 1986. He has trained more than 1000 students, in the US and abroad, over the past 25 years and maintains a vast library of books on trading. As the author of 10 textbooks on trading, he describes the evolution of his discovery of the steps necessary to become a successful trader. Each year, Mr. Pesavento speaks to hundreds of traders and is a guest lecturer for many different investment programs, including radio, Internet, and universities, both in the US and the Far East. He uses a pattern recognition system of swing trading that employs swing ratio analysis along with cyclical analysis; focusing on risk control is the key to this system.
