Does anybody own a ferrari?

I know, that's the rap on them, however, the newer ones are much better mechanically. I think this car is much more unique and is much more fun to drive personally. Also much better bang for the buck pricewise.
 
I have a 2003 360 Modena. I reckon on about $5,000 a year at least in servicing, plus all the other running costs. Just make sure you get a car inspected before buying, and stay away from the low mileage garage queens as they generally have more problems than normal mile cars.
 
67k miles is way too much for any Ferrari. A 1987 should have about 30-40k on it.

If you like it, get it, but be prepared for high maintenance costs. If you are getting it as an investment, that's a huge mistake. Only certain models will appreciate, and the 328 is not one of them.

I considered getting a 360, but will end up getting a different make instead. I know the 360's oil change costs over $200, I'm not sure about the 328.

Don't get the 348, it has lots of mechanical problems, even for a Ferrari.

Tuneup for a 328 starts at about $2,500

For the original poster, what I have to say is simple, either buy a new one or forget it. You will regret buying used. You will not be prepared for how frequently Ferraris need repair. Even the simplest repair is minimum $500. If you buy a new one, you have a couple of years of relatively low expense happy driving before reality sets in.

I bought a 72 Daytona in 73 for 23K!! traded in my Eldorado and paid just 13K cash. Silver with black interior and Borrani wheels. Idaho License plate SUNVLLY !! Sold it to an IRS agent who collected Ferraris a few years later for 26K.

Now why would you pay 395K for a Daytona when you could buy a brand new Scaglietti for about the same money ?

The value of Daytona will more likely to go up than down. The Scaglietti's value has nowhere to go but down just like any new car.
 
ferrari or not, the only viable option is a european sports car. the us auto industry is a complete joke, it is like having a big penis but never have a hard on.

i'd recommend the porsche 911 though.
