You'd be in the minority as a trader that doesn't drink, smoke, or take drugs. And don't confuse the Victorian contrivance of what the old guard considers acceptable to speak of publicly with reality of what happens in private. I find it suspicious (like an ulterior motive) when someone makes broad declarations about trading and what is done in personal life (and never mind they just admitted their own shortcoming in failing to maintain this balance).

Everything we do affects trading performance. Even a momentary distraction (especially if scalping).....

The important part of my post is that neither appearances nor perpetuating fallen myths is reality. Your post is a textbook and timely example of each.
And to take your post at face value, are you implying the minority of successful traders and minority of sober traders are one in the same? I'll state categorically they are not (and reserve evidence of such for the unlikely scenario you're willing to support your assertion with evidence).
