These fucking douche-bag Doctors are protecting their inflated salaries.

Just like Wallstreet voted the FED to bailout their inflated salaries.

Just like corrupt Politicians that whore themselves to Special Interests to get and stay elected.

Its not Rocket Science.

People are just naive.

Being smart and accomplished makes one impervious to corruption.

Like Enron. Or Wallstreet.
 
Didn't read the article, but where I live the high cost is because the big health systems have hospitals(full size), and clinics on every corner. They think they need to run a Walgreens model. When you have to staff all these stupid clinics and hospitals. your costs are going to go up. Nurses aren't cheap and the other tech fileds have seen rising pay do to shortages, ie. X-ray techs etc. For the system(Aurora) we normally go to they have 2 large full service clinics(mini hospitals) within 5 miles and 3 smaller satellite clinics within 5 miles. The other big health systems have the same thing. It is stupid, but they seem to get away with it. Add in the staff they are required to have to deal with insurance and the complicated system involved in the insurance process, and you've built in huge cost before you've added in the Docs.
 
A commoners response....and further reason to believe efficiency has not taken place partly because of government payments....

People who are qualified should be able to become a doctor....because they want to become a doctor.....

In several countries there are community facilities whereby the local community constructs the local clinic with local administration and they simply add if needed...and subtract if needed....

Also there is no price competiton in medicine....

Why not?

Doctor A who went to the same school ....has practiced for the same number of years....and has been successful on x number of patients....not successful with x number of patients....will do your required procedure for $x......

Funny, cause from what I see, there is an oversupply of doctors already. And most of them are clueless about health.

All these new doctors get taught how to do is sell pharma drugs and surgeries. Revenue first, your health second. Or maybe third, cause lunch comes second.

Surgeons, much more - 400K plus.

Why not let the free market prevail and dictate prices?
 
The problem in medicine is that they want to protect high prices for their services.....

They think that they should be rewarded for getting into their restrictive med schools and protected venues....

Well I have some news for you....

Why do you think that your labor is worth x times more than anyone elses'?

Why are you allowed to restrict the number of people that are qualified to be doctors because their daddy or mommy is not related to someone's cousin ?

Ok...so why do garbage workers not limit the number of garbage trucks...and garbage workers?

Medicine represents the same problem that the UAW represents....

And what you will see are many doctors complaining about the UAW....

You know the list goes on....

Family farms wanting subsidies...some of which live in NY and never set foot on their farms....

Let competitive markets work.....

Look at how fucked up the medicine and auto businesses are now in terms of costs....The med insurance business plays off of these bullshit prices....and has totally fucked the US taxpayers and their children's grandchildren....

Just simple protectionism has been enacted...and needs to be eliminated.....

You cannot have it be ok for some businesses to employ protectionisn and some not....

Look....in my previous posts I have beat this to death.....

This is not rocket science....

This is just another reason the two party system has to be replaced....

my gf is in med school and it is funny here is a normal conversation from a week ago.

"i'm totally voting for change. Osama is going to be awesome as president."

"yeah, i think he's just swell. everyone really is entitled to all those things he promises."

"true, true. but i sure hate insurance companies, they only pay us doctor's like 20c on the dollar, if that for our procedures. i'm not going to accept medicare or medicaid patients when i'm a doctor."

Look....when government is run by township...the whole picture becomes clearer....

What is interesting about insurance companies is that they play off the prices that are protected by organizations that want to limit the number of schools and doctors....

Good doctors should be based on their reputation and sincerety....like any other profession...boatmakers....whatever...restaurants....

People like good restaurants because of good food....
