How is it ironic? Not taking offense, just curious what you mean.

Another feature that some forums use that would help in situations like these is giving the thread starter the power to ban people from the particular thread they started. That way the OP of a thread can police their own threads without having to involve moderators or moderators having to ban someone from the entire site.

Good idea about the poster having control over his/her thread...

Sometimes the thread gets hijacked and then it degenrates...

Go to Your Account, look to the top right. You'll see "Edit Ignore List".
Mine is very long, and interestingly, I find that I miss precisely nothing in terms of quality input.
I put Jack Hershey on mine about a half year after I got here. I've never regretted it. I'm not surprised icarus was a disciple of his.

Yeah absolutely, i see patterns everywhere. Because i am a technical pattern trader i see them in clouds, in sea waves, in the blanket of my bed.

When there is a market, then there are patterns, because the patterns are the people who move the markets and they dont do anything stupid.

I can tell you the reason why the academic world believes in random markets. Because trading is about money. So, when a academic proffessor finds a trading pattern, he will not publish it, he will make money on it. and he knows also if he publish it, the possibility that i will work out, goes down and the market finds another way/pattern.

Just think about it, if there werent any patterns, there would be no business that capitalize on it, no investment banking, no trading companies. Everyone needs a reason for risking money, for that you need a strategy based on long historical data statistic. That are patterns.

It will repeat its self over and over again. It did it for the las 100 years and will do it for the next 100 years.

Beside that you can find patterns everywhere but the best place are the financial markets.
 
It is a shame that this thread suffered an early demise. There was some genuinely interesting discussion, at least at some point.

I've long been thinking about the topics discussed, but not only with regard to trading. Neurology is a hobby of mine, and I am especially interested in consciousness. Quantum consciousness is a very interesting concept.

Like Samsara (?) my background is in philosophy, and that has limited my thinking to the abstractedness of it. But, I have recently returned to school to further expand my mathematical knowledge. The goal is to obtain a degree in physics; It's not too late, Samsara...

I just wanted to thank the various contributors to this thread, it was one of the better ones in a long time.
 
Why not add something useful, even an intelligent question, instead of a whine?. If you or someone does, I'm SURE the MAESTRO, and others will be back... Personally I miss Icarus... Oh well the punching bag will do. I spent 2 years just on the 2 basic laws that are very simple. Harnessing the how will not be posted by anyone smart enough to crack the nut...for obvious reasons...

Samsara is also the never ending pain in life, from birth to death, for every being. Maybe its radomness that you be there in life where you be, maybe not.
Could it be that you materialize your world with your own thoughts, nothing exists until you think it. Is it gods will or is it me ? If i can change my future, why cant i change my past, there is so much i would change, i would give everything for it.

Samsara sucks.

Seriously guys Google image a random walk chart or create one in Excel and you will be amazed at the amount of double tops/bottoms, bull/bear flags, breakouts from consolidation areas, etc. that you will discover. Even Fibonacci lines will look like viable entry & exit points.

Everytime that the market crashes, there is a recession (or worse). Randomise that, dickwad.
