do you get those spam emails about penny stocks ?

I am tired of getting all those spam emails that want me to buy such penny stocks, saying it will jump within a couple of days...i wonder if they find some losers to follow them...
does anybody know something about these scams ?
 
Sometimes trash is treasure.

I'm interested from another perspective. Can I just spam email my picks and work a stock higher? Do I have to coat the email in a million disclaimers?

How can Merrill Lynch recommend stocks, and I can't (if that is, in fact, the case)?
 
Lets get together and start shorting all these stocks.
Lets start a list of "most notorious" and take these spammers down.

yeah, right...i am sure those \"analysts\" ask their friends to buy bunch of stocks for them right before upgrading their recommendation...too easy and risk free...

so those guys who send us these spam emails are just not luck enough to work for Merryl Lynch, but they try to do exactly the same thing ?

and then there is the med and viagra crap....

so I sponsor a Nigerian...I buy him a College Diploma...teach him to make millions in penny stock spam...give him some Viagra....and subscribe to a legal doc's site...

Those spams are pump and dump schemes, or other illegal activity. The best thing to do is to click on "Full Headers" (so that they can potentially be traced) and then forward them to:

enforcement@sec.gov

. . . so that the SEC can pursue the spammers.

The SEC does want to know about this activity. They don't so much take action against individual emailers as note where the bulk of such activity is taking place and use that info to direct their enforcement efforts, frequently against the companies whose stock is being touted. It may not be perfect, but it is worth the couple of clicks to do what we can. See more at:
