There were lots of floor traders who developed into great upstairs traders.

If you can get a job at an IB,hedge fund, prop shop and trade OPM while learning, you are WAY ahead of the game...

i think 99 percent of this board will make less from trading than they would from a meaningful career job.

Why not start out with a decent salary, health insurance covered and develop a swing trading style, momo, value or any prudent approach that doesn't need constant monitoring of the screen???

A good trader who doesn't see this isn't a good trader.

I've got my hooks sunk in your blubber and I ain't letting go. I'm going to make you cry for mod help again, you fraudulent fat thing you.

Trading is the only "profession" in the world where guys walk in off the steet and think they are good to go without any training or prep..

No not really. I know quite a few other professions where people think they don't need any training and they can do well. Trading though, tbh really does not require much training or prep. What you need is some basic knowledge and practice, lots and lots and lots of backtesting and practice and prudent capital and risk management when you really trade irl. That's it. All of the knowledge about trading can be really learned online nowadays. I learned technical analysis completely via self-study.
