Just wondering, how many roaring inflations have you lived through?
In all seriousness, we are looking at a category 6 Hurricane.
Where do you get your "coolness"?

The USD won’t “crater” because the US does not depend on imports for the vast majority of its critical needs. We’re not Japan where every drop of oil and carload of iron ore needs to be purchased abroad.

Also, the American lifestyle is characterized by a fantastic amount of waste and inefficiency. Big-box stores piled high with plastic crap to fill the empty space in 5,000sf McMansions; eight-lane highways jammed with massive SUVs carrying single commuters to work at a
job which can perfectly well be done remotely. Multiple city footprints of data centers running LLMs to spam low-quality porn, etc. We could cut our consumption of most resources by at least 25% practically overnight with no decrease, or perhaps even an increase in overall subjective well-being.

If you ask me, this country could use a little consideration of where its actual priorities lie.

How about diesel fuel?
The U.S. still pumps loads of Crude Oil (from Fracked wells).
But nothing that comes out of a Fracked well can be refined into diesel.
Where does the U.S. get its diesel?

And they have not hollowed out their manufacturing base.
And what do they think of "transgenderism"
