Do We Need Indicators?

A lagging indicator is very detrimental to profits in my opinion.
The more they lag, the later the entry and later the exit, big negative on profits.
If you attempt to overcome via a faster indicator, then you end up trading a shorter time frame and still with the lagging entry and exit signals but worsening losses.
There is no way around it when used as entry/exit signals.
All indicators are lagging.

I've also heard many say price matters and volume does not. Many ways to Rome...
Here's an example. Name a price, any price. Apply volume zero. I assume you're smart enough to figure out the rest. Hmmm and maybe not...

All indicators are lagging.
Welp I dont use indicators, and surely not those which read future data not yet downloaded on my puter, so whether lagging or not, they can be moonbeams. The statement "all indicators are lagging" is like telling ET they need you to educate us on trading basics.

Agree all indicators (Oscillators, MA's, BBands) lag.

But not all TA - such as those techniques that project in advance time and price possible turning points. Just like any analysis sometimes right, sometimes wrong. Sometimes they are adjusted when changing PA warrants. But by their nature never lag.

No---- indicators will tell you exactly what is happening in realtime at the same time price does. The only way a person could say that indicators lag , is if they say price lags. And, if you are saying that price lags, then you are saying that you are the person that moves the markets with their trades. If someone is saying this, then it qualifies as arrogance of the first division.

You don't have a full grasp on proper use of indicators.----Sadly

Agree, they are approximately 50% right. Similar to flipping a coin. Or reading into a crystal ball, or reading the lumps on an analyst head. But not sure if that's before or after the TA is beaten with a stick.
