Simple: He wasn't an agent of the Ayatollah. Reagan was. Or did you think the hostages being released right after his inauguration was a coincidence? Or that later he used them to help his buds in Nicaragua was also merely coincidental?
If any Democrat had done anything remotely like this, he'd have been impeached.
