We often have to make compromises. To insist on remaining ideologically pure may not serve our best interests. For example, I am a Bernie supporter, because I like the way he is trying to move the country away from what I see as dangerous nationalism of the extreme right back toward the center, center-left, if you prefer. Enough is enough. We already have more children living in poverty and more incarceration than any other developed country. Eisenhower wouldn't believe it if he could see what has happened to the country he knew and loved. But if I were living in a swing State, despite how I can't stand Hillary, I would be crazy not to vote for her, because any other vote would then be a vote for Trump. (I'm not living in a swing State, so I am effectively disenfranchised by the electoral college in the vote for President. I'll still be voting because of down ballot issues, however.)
