Do the ES and full contract mirror each other?

When watching the S & P futures as a leading indicator, do the e-mini and the full contract mirror each other? Can you watch either, and is the most current one (i.e. ESH04) the one that most of the world is watching?

They are almost perfectly correlated. The farthest they're usually apart is like 20 cents or so.

If you're using futures as a leading indicator for stock trading, than make sure to use ES instead of SP. Because ES is traded electronically price changes on the screen are transmitted real time. Price changes on pit traded SP are put in the system manually by pit reporters and can lag by several seconds.
