Salutations ET ,(It's again the noob trader) I come with this thread cause it's a really big statement and engage a lot of people in this road of TA(particularly me) and I'm also curious ......

I assume that most of the answer would be subjective , but hope that the different answer would help me to bring objectivity about that .

At this time and age TA is quanitfiable and has morphed into the study of behavioural finance. TA was a great starting point before computers were invented to try and model human psychology. You should have at least a little respect for it.
 
Too many threads like this in the past > +50. Best let the new members after 2014 have at it as if something new will be discovered. In reality...nothing new to discover and not particular words will change anyone's mind...it works...it does not work. The same will be repeated again as the past threads. :D

today edges are fleeting and small.....almost all information is available at almost no, or negligible, cost, so even a pauper, like me can trade.
but can i make money?...... so like, in the real business, only the big are surviving-in retailing,in hotels, in IT and most business activities you need economies of scale to survive...just survive!

if you are using Ta or anything else without economies of scale with capital of 25 usd 100 usd or even 5000 usd can you seriously expect to make a living out of it
 
what is technical analysis?
if you observe a market and see how fast it is going up and then monitor how fast it is going up,whether buying pressure is continuing, then you may be able to tell whether a reversal may be coming.
is this technical or is it analysis or is it just plain observation or common sense?

in the chart see the slope of the trendlines? does it tell you something about the uptrend.?
staying in the present is not classical technical analysis but you do not need 50 computers and 25 analysts to see that the uptrend is slowing]
