Do real prop firms still exist?

Schonfeld a good name? I heard that firm is for pikers that can't afford to put up risk capital like a true capitalist should!
 
If you know anything about the day trading industry; then you would know that Steven Schonfeld started the entire industry before there was even a term 'pikers'. Almost every day trading firm that began in the 1990's was started by someone that was trained at Schonfeld; became a success; and then went out on their own.
 
lots of churn and burn in the 90's. that was when a daytrader with a clue had an execution edge. Now, the executions are by hft firing squad.
