They plan on saying something similar for this year's election.
Look at what they have thrown at Trump over the last 4 years. It all turned out to be bullshit.

There are similarities to the arguments against prohibition of smoking in public places. People were saying that wanted to smoke and fine if you did not want to smoke but they should be allowed to smoke. A lot of that went away with the second hand smoke discussions, not to mention the high costs of cleaning smoke out of restaurants, bars and airplanes.
Similar idea here with COVID. I agree that we should start moving to opening up. But for those who bitch there should never have been any lockdown because if they want to go out they should be allowed and if you don't want to then stay home. Problems is you go out with all your friends who never wanted to stay home at all and you carry and spread this shit around with your naivete and the problem gets worse and worse rather than just sacrifice for 45 to 60 days immediately.
If you want to open your restaurant and fill it with people daily with no social distancing or masks or precautions, then what are you doing to every one else around you?

Exactly. I am 62 years of age and have other illnesses. So, high risk. I will take precautions and even then, who knows? I may still catch Corona Virus or get killed driving my car. I was almost killed twice by reckless drivers. Now, I will wear a mask, use hand sanitizer to clean my hands, once back home, I will take a hot shower with soap which should kill any viruses including, Corona Virus I might have picked up. Open my windows to let fresh air in to dissipate any viruses and germs trapped in my room. How, in the hell, in good conscience can anyone keep people locked up that they lose their jobs? What about their families? Open up the economy and let the people do what they want. They are their own best advocates for what is best for themselves and their families. The same stupidity is being foisted on us by so called medical experts from behind their cushy desks. Real doctors who are in the field tell us that the risks of Corona Virus are being exaggerated with our complicit, corrupt extreme liberal media hacks promoting panic and hysteria. Karma will hit you guys at some point and all your vile lies exposed.
