I wouldn't go that far. And I can understand why he wouldn't want to "micro-manage" his strategy. However, believing that your data begins at the market open when it doesn't, and following an indicator that you can't identify, is a bit too SOMP for me.

Yeah you figured it out. How ridiculous, people asked who I used and I told them. What broker anyone else uses doesn't make me any more money in my trading, so I couldn't possibly care less who use. Trade with whoever you want. All I care about is having a software that fits my strategy and realfasttrader is the only one I've found that charts DMI/ADX like this.

Also protrader isn't even the broker I said I used. At least if your going to make a useless remark, try to get your info straight.

Listen, I started this thread to attempt to explain to people a strategy that is working VERY well for me. I really don't need all this negative BS.

I am not a programmer, I am a trader. I trade everyday and make very good money. I have posted screen shots, told you about actual trades, and tried to explain how I do it. I have posted the site I use so you can look at it for yourself and make your own determinations.

In the software I use it calls the 3 indicators under DMI: ADX, MDI & PDI. I didn't program the software. If the ADX in there is not a "true ADX", that's news to me.

Now I remember why I stopped posting here for a while... too many jerks who wish they were making money (yet still consider themselves experts) and try to knock anyone who tries to show people a strategy that works for them.

I'm done trying to explain anything here. I really don't need the negativity. I'll go back to making money and not saying anything about how I do it. I apologize to the people that were genuinely interested.

Perhaps if your results were replicable, the interest would be more enthusiastic.

Would anyone be interested in discussing true DMI/ADX plotted in generally-available software?

He provided several suggestions, though the one which most people focus on is the MACDh/osc Triple Screen. As for the DMI/ADX, I'm not aware of a particular set up that he created, though he does explain how to use a variety of indicators. The explanation he provides for the ADX is the same as that provided by LeBeau, which was linked earlier.

I don't think he meant that in the absolute sense, but rather that nyc's ADX is actually DX. Which is correct.

I am working on the TS code for it (the built in version of DMI does not plot the actual DMI (DX) (only the DM+/- and ADX). I am running into a few problems in the calculation results. The plot looks the same as nyc's, but the actual values for DX are different, causing them to have different cross points with the DM lines. I'll post what I have soon and maybe someone can tell me where the differences are.
