Tell her she can have the blow-up dolls if you get to keep the canoe. She knows that the canoe will not fit on the plane to Japan.

Do a will/trust and change your beneficiaries as soon as you're able. Can't tell you the number of times some clown didn't change the beneficiary of a life insurance policy and the clown's ex got the $$$

Just be careful about being too obnoxious during the process. Sometimes people in no-fault states think "well screw it, maybe I did some questionable things in the marriage but it is a no fault state so the property/assets get split equally so there we have it, and I don't care if she is pissed at me for this or that or if the court thinks I am a bum. I will just get my half and get out."

Be careful with that. Colorado is not an "equal distribution state." It is an "equitable distribution" state. ie. the judge can move distribution of assets and any payments from you to your ex in any way that the judge wants to see that the wife is getting an equitable/fair settlement, regardless of whether it is an equal split or not.

If she gets an attorney and the attorney has been around the block, they will argue that your trading and trading education income is a business developed within the marriage and that she has a right (or that fairness requires) to a portion of that as you go forward even if she is out of the marriage.

Just sayin. Don't give the judge a reason to think you need a spanking. And don't turn down any chance to get out 50/50 on assets on hand and get the fuck out and cap it. Because it could be worse. Don't let it reach court.

I shall say no more. Just watch your arse.
