Many Democrats have the same strategy on the gun control and immigration issues.
1. Democrats refuse to work towards a legislative solution, unless they get 100% of what they want. DACA is a good example.
2. Democrats would rather have the issue, rather than the solution, for short-term political gain in the midterm elections.
3. Democrats are dishonest regarding their positions on these issues. They may care about the victims of gun violence, and the plight of illegal immigrants. However, they don't want to address effective solutions to these issues. Many Democrats want gun bans and confiscation. They want porous borders for future voters.
