In fact, I think Brazil, Hong Kong and Spain...each have +20 different political parties.

Absolutely. It occurred to me, although I had already known, but stuck out moreso than before after learning about Singapore's system of governance. For example, their low tax and ease of business coupled with extreme intolerance of drugs and corruption via use of corporal punishment shows how draconian measures can work in concert with a relatively free economics for great wealth generation. I wonder what would happen if they went full Sharia and abolished prisons entirely in lieu of complete corporal punishment.
