Diminishing Range on SP since July 05, 2012 setup for crash or rally?

I have noticed that in fact the SP has diminished from it's yearly range expansion by 33%. This is a huge slowdown in a very short period of time. Reference July last year for a possible scenario. No doubt that something radical is coming either way it will not stay bound at most around one month if that. ~M
