Difference between SPY's and E-mini's

Hey,

I have been prop trading for three years and wanted to know the differences between the emini's and the SPY's. I can trade the SPY's now, but have started to look into possibly trading the emini's. What is better and why? Is the slipage higher in the in the emini's.

I noticed that the spread on the SPY's is usually a penny or two. For those of you who trade the emini's, what kind of spread is typical. What are the costs like to trade the emini's.
