Difference between CME and GLOBEX

In trading the ES and NQ, what's the difference between
CME and GLOBEX?

In IB, how come the quotes are blank right now 5pm PT
for CME and I can still see the quotes if I selected GLOBEX.

Is there an advantage of one over the other in execution?

You will need to use Globex. CME is pit traded and not available for cleared accounts via IB. If you want to see the SPX contract after hours, load up SPX GLOBEX.
