Did You Know Abraham Lincoln Was A Democrat?

Me neither, but apparently the folks at Northeastern Illinois U. thought a little historical rewrite was in order...

Sadly, most who enter that building will probably believe it and go on thinking that for the rest of their lives. Lie will eventually become truth.

It would really be funny if that building was used for history classes.

Since 1966, CCICS has established itself as a premier African-centered institution in higher education throughout the world. The scholar/activist tradition established at CCICS is the hallmark and foundation of our work. The warm and caring atmosphere of CCICS provides an African-centered educational climate that enhances the learning processes of all those who participate in our academic programs.

There is no room for the word "Republican" in this curriculum.

The funny part is if you had called Abraham Lincoln a Democrat to his face - he would have been furious and tossed you out of his office.

Unless you explained first that the labels mean different things in the 21st century than they did in the 19th.

Except that they really don't, Ricter.

Richter don't interrupt the boys fake outrage and ignorant conversation with an intelligent thought. How else are they going to have any fun if they aren't pissed off all the time.

It does not. Lincoln was a Republican (the dominant party of the North and businessmen) in a race against Democrats (the dominant party of the South). Lincoln would view anyone calling him a Democrat as a huge insult and they would learn instantly that good ole' Abe had a temper.

Hasn't changed all that much anyway. Back then, the Democrats were into slavery. These days, they still are. They keep the poor in debt to keep them on benefits for their vote. Exchange labor slavery with debt slavery. Still slaves.
