Did shorts get squeezed this afternoon by Carvana??

Then offer numbers not gut feeling.

I analyze things differently from you.

you wouldn't like the way I analyze things.
That is fine with me.
Just analyze things the way you feel comfortable with.

There are ways to get those numbers.
You can get it if you want because those numbers are not secret.
I wouldn't look at those numbers.

I wouldn't debate whether your way is better or my way is better.

No more further discussion.

Explain your way. I would like see if your methodology is useful.

Since May 2023, lows are slowly getting higher and higher.
When you see the price went up significantly,
do not think the shorts got squeezed.
There could be hardly any SHORTS.

31% is a little more than hardly any.:p

I wouldn't look at those numbers.
But that doesn't mean you shouldn't look at those numbers.
If it works for you, by all means, continue to look at it.

I mainly focus on the chart.
And also K.I.S.S.

Good Luck with those numbers!

"I mainly focus on the chart." How do charts show the short level of activity?

I have no position and this is purely a hypothetical-

CVNA ceo and cfo will be doing a perp walk in the coming years

I don’t believe their numbers for a second.
Out of nowhere all of a sudden making $6300 profit on every vehicle sold. No shot.

I took a look myself and came up with about 5511 per car. Suddenly making that much per sale after losses the previous 2 years is suspicious to me as well.

From their 10k:
"We define total gross profit per unit as the aggregate gross profit in a given period, divided by retail units sold in that period, including gross profit generated from the sale of retail vehicles, gains on the sales of loans originated to finance the vehicle"

I wonder if they sold a bunch of cars to sub-prime buyers and who's carry the risk of default.

This other part screamed out at me:
"Other Gross Profit Other sales and revenues consist of 100% gross margin products for which gross profit equals revenue. "

WTF could they possibly selling that has100% gross margin? Cloud insurance?

It seems to make up HALF the gross profit on page 59! Other than crypto currency who the hell pay millions for something created out of thin air with no associated cost?
