You and I are clearly talking about different people. I gave you
Salon du Trading and specifically said Forex. You responded by naming some guy (Hoffman)
not in Forex unless I'm mistaken. Also, Hoffman is some guy not in the Forex June 2015 competition nor listed as a competitor in the upcoming September competition.
Oddly, the guy you listed has competed more than 3 years and has won...
a few times. That's a real money, real-time,
audited live, trade platform up on the big screen in front of a live audience and all trades
verified again at the competition conclusion. Price action traders and traders using indicators, all competing against each other...some competing
more than 5 years. If you need access to the trading records...you contact them (not me) or go watch with your own two eyes.
Anyways, that's gotta count for something versus your
I've never seen statement. Yet, if you want to ignore what's going on elsewhere in the world outside of ET...that's ok.
Therefore, lets not look elsewhere (Asia, Europe, South America). Lets pretend traders outside of North America
don't exist. Lets just keep it about Elitetrader.com
Take a look at
Buy2Sell2...he uses indicators (I think) and he's been posting
live trades here at Elitetrader for
more than +3 years and the guy is heavy into money management. Doesn't that count for anything about substantial profitability/proof ???
Note: You did mention indicators too that you've never seen substantial proof
What about the guy that passed the topsteptrader combine (he showed his statements in the TopSteptrader thread here at ET) and when he was asked what was his strategy...he said he didn't use indicators...just basic chart analysis. I assumed that meant he's a price action trader.
I've never seen...
Don't believe the myth.
My point is this...just because you've
never seen such or
never met them...it doesn't imply the above folks never existed and it doesn't imply profitable trading can't happen via price action, indicators or blackbox. I'll cut you some slack via the fact you used the phrase "pure price action" trading and that those on my list that use money management, fundamentals and other stuff with their price action trading wouldn't be consider as "pure price action" trading.
