Developing "Spartan"

Why don’t you just learn how to use MetaTrader 4/5?! It has all the features you mentioned! What on earth are you doing!?

I tried it, had to spend too much time learning stuff, a programming language I didn't like using, in the end it appeared to be a similar amount of time spent to become a master.

Are there features that I will miss from all these platforms? Sure. I'm not too worried though. In the end, my manual forward testing with IB may just work out, who knows. But the ability to control and understand 100% of the platform is something that I think will aid in mastering the platform and the strategies. I don't intend to stop with just one strategy, I also manually trade options. I imagine in the future, if I am successful, a set of strategies that work together with a platform that takes into account many different variables that would be a pain, or unavailable in other platforms.

For example, it took metatrader years to add an economic calendar that could be digested by robots. It took me a few hours to do so in a way that can be used by my algorithms. Yes, I know, you could have done it in MT4 as well by writing custom code, which is exactly my point. I know a lot of my time will be spent writing custom code, NOT futzing around with prebuilt software parameters.

You can pay a developer to do whatever you want! You can back and forward test to your hearts content. My strategy works on daily bars and I don’t know a thing about programming, I also had a hedge lock system developed for martingale systems for $30! Great stuff

A spartan platform that lets me back test, forward test and trade live using a single interface in the way I like it to be done. It will miss lots of fancy features.

Don’t really understand as you can do that in the existing metatrader 4 platform.....but wish you the best of luck in your development and your trading :thumbsup:
