devaluation of the dollar

Quote from riskfreetrading:

the man with the beard needs to be fired. He produces just shocks to the system, when he is supposed to do the oppoiste.

...

I hereby called on him to resign or be removed.

Good thing he reads EliteTrader regularly :D :D

Quote from anouka:

I agree with that, that action far from bringing good things to the economy by stimulating consumer spending is going to have a real bad effect on the economy in a long term. Remember how the whole subprime mortgage situation started?

um no

Quote from Ivanovich:

I think that he believes he's trying to get in front of this thing, and he no longer wants to play catch up. If this doesn't work, I truly believe the Fed is out of tricks.

someone give him a list of tricks.

Quote from thriftybob:

The dollar needed to be devalued that the economy would survive.

typical 3rd world policy. devalue to prosperity. u should be on the fed.

I am surprised that people are not calling for change in Fed leadership.

The guy just added three problems, and solved none. The new problems he added are:

1. return of inflation (which will make recession fighting more difficult).

2. instability in financial markets (dollar bouncing like a ball full of air).

3. Confidence of foreign investors/creditor to send their money to the USA and to lend.

What did he gain from his action: ZERO!

This man needs to be fired, on the spot (with a slap on his face). He spends more time taking care of his beard.

People not calling for his removal as simply afraid of him, or of some group intimidating them. No CEO on the planet in entire history would have not been fired for the damage that this guy has done.

Those who believe he has failed and are still silent are simply cowards.;

wow, I am not sure how to solve the mess we are in. Maybe there is no way out..
Dollar is not worth the parper it was written on, banks have no credibility. Pretty soon, there will be NO reason for anyone to pay the banks, no mortgage, no cc payments. Just get a gun and hold off the collectors.. There is half a nation in default.
Anarchy.. pretty scary..

Can someone show me an example of where a country has devalued its way to prosperity?

The dollar moved down in a few days an amount of pips it took a year and a half to cover before.

This is not a good sign. If you hold foreign currency why investing in an economy when the exchange risk is much higher than any potential reward?
