Deval should enjoy his little announcement bump in attention. All 48-72 hours of it.
Next week, might help to hire a staff and little things like that.
Heh. He did not even register the domain name for devalpatrick2020 so the locals are having fun with it. Howie Carr loves the fun though. He has been at it with Deval for a long time now.
Not sure how much staff and money you need though to run a campaign for VP.

Don't be surprised that if he gets an offer down the road, that the job of Vice President of the United States looks okay to a kid from the South Side of Chicago. Especially after you have been shlepping over at Bain in do-nothing token positions.
But that's fine. He should proceed to go out on the hunt for the nomination himself and if can take the VP discussion off the table by becoming the nominee himself , well then, fine, that's one way to do it. There are 28 others who set out to do that but reality sets in along the way.
He should do okay in New Hampshire because southern new hampshire is within the boston market so they are already familiar with him- for better or worse. Of course Bernie, a faux Vermonter, claims to be New Hampshire's neighbor and so does Pokie, as a faux Masshole, so that splits the NH vote more than a bit.

In the hierarchy of decorum, which is higher--- a Senator or a Governor?
Like say Romney 20 years from now (completely retired)... will he be referred to as Governor Romney or Senator Romney in the press? Like Hillary, they always call her Secretary Clinton, not Senator. How's that work?
Out of state, they are generally more often referred to as Senator because more people knew them as that. But in state, they tend to be known as Gov. No rule there, just the way the parlance tends to work in my view.
You gave Romney as an example but he is actually sort of an oddball case. He is Senator from Utah but was Governor of Massachusetts. Not something you see a lot of.
Having said all that, I do sort of welcome Deval Patrick in to the race, because- well- nothing else interesting is going on in dem village.
Yes of course, because he is so eminently qualified to be a heartbeat away. In fairness, he was mayor of a bigger city than Mayor Pete. People might have a bit more respect for dems if they treated the two highest offices in the land more seriously and picked candidates on something other than skin color, gender and sexual orientation.
I despise Bloomberg but he is a serious credible figure. Patrick was governor of a large state and it didn't collapse during his term. Biden is the worst sort of corrupt career politician but he was a long serving Senator and VP.
Stacy Gillum and Andrew Gilliam are jokes, relevant only because of their race.
