As in trade options successfully and make money. Let’s hear your definition.

I voted for OP to have mod privileges.

Baron runs the show, he needs to decide what’s in his best interest for the business, aka dollar return, but he treads a fine line between over moderation and under moderation.

This is a trading forum, not an entertainment forum.
Advertisers promote their business here because this is where traders congregate.
So the target audience are traders, Trading noobs I imagine would be a big part of it and also the more professional traders on ET with brokerage and software and data.

If you under-moderate a forum, it gets out of hand, this attracts more rowdy participants and serious traders will leave due to harassment and Advertisers will leave, it becomes a vicious cycle of talent leaving which encourages more poor quality of content.

IMO, the moderation on ET is too lax and unevenly distributed.
Basically there are two groups of people on ET, those who are serious and those who aren’t.
ET is crawling with political trolls. IMO politics and religion and chitchat and other non trading forums should be shut down, all they do is encourage a lot of idiots to remain on ET.
Some posters seem to spend their entire posting life in these sections.
They need booting off ET pronto imo.
They will never spend a cent on ET advertisers. You just need to look at Musk and Twitter to see what happens to poor moderation, unruliness and advertisers leaving.

So, getting back to Dest, he was reprimanded (too harshly) by Baron by removing his rights to blocking people on ET.
This punishment has gone on for far too long and all it has done is created resentment I would imagine, I’m not surprised he’s angry on ET, I would be too.
Here’s a guy who can contribute greatly to ET knowledge and a lifetime blocking ban is administered while fuckwits are allowed to run rampant.

So it boils down to moderation, Dest can do no worse in terms of moderating strictly as against no moderation, just look at this dogs breakfast thread, if Dest were moderating then this shit show of a thread wouldn’t have turned out this way.

Yeah this thread is entertaining, but is it attracting traders and advertisers?

So maybe now the poll should be changed to "Should Dest get his Ignore function back?"
I doubt he'll do whatever it was that got it taken away in the first place again.
Logging off/on/cutting and pasting (?)---whatever it was. Or alleged to be.

Decent chance I will be in London this summer. Original plan was to be there was a month, but some developments at home (USA) have curtailed that to one or two weeks.

what I said was that options are complex. Just like medicine or many other fields of study.
