From what I know, there are two different types: ignore and block.

• "Ignore" will hide any contents from those who are on your ignore list, but they can still read your post.
• With "block", neither of you can read each other's posts.

Hence, a blocked person can post on the blocker's thread. But since they can't technically see the post, they won't be able to directly interact with the blocker. However, they can still make replies to everyone else on the thread. For example, I can't see any of Dest's posts here since I blocked him, but I'm still able to make replies to Hilmy and others.

Interacting with others in a blocked OP's JOURNAL thread is what makes current block function useless. Nobody starts a journal thread wants to see blocked usernames on your journal with side convos that you're not part of and likely derailing the topic.

Just having this function work only in journal section is best.

But doubt @Baron will care enough to implement.

The guy's story is certainly fishy but as to it either a) being des b) someone he put up to it - doubtful in my mind.

I was looking though his pics, and I admire the guy's first pic especially. I remember when I could trade CL like that and make really decent scratch. But I made the fateful decision to switch to equity futures because I convinced myself I was losing my understanding of the CL patterns.

As far as the blocking shit goes? I had mentioned the best idea for it in the past but @Baron poopoo-ed it. When you want to totally block someone with that little checkbox, it should pop up a box that says "This blocking is irrevocable for 30 (60,90 whatever) days. Are you sure?

That would have allowed dest to keep his ability to block, because he (and everybody else) would not have been able to do what he did.

Simple. But Baron gave me some reason why that would not work, I forgot what it was. So there we are. STILL stuck with the most complained-about feature on the forum.
